Lee Sharrock

Lee Sharrock is a prolific arts writer, Founder of Culturalee and former Forbes Arts Contributor whose work has been published extensively in publications including; Artlyst, Artplugged, Art & Museum Magazine, Artdoc Photography Magazine, Baku Magazine, Creative Review, FAD Magazine, Forbes, Forbes Japan, Forbes Ecuador, Forbes Uruguay, IRK Magazine, Muse by CLIO, Our Culture, STATE and Soho House Magazine.
Based in Brighton (after relocating from London in 2025), Lee has an international outlook and travels widely to write about art galleries, museum exhibitions, biennials, art fairs, design, fashion, film, music, theatre and travel.
Lee has curated numerous exhibitions at leading venues including; Christie’s, Saatchi & Saatchi, Norwich Cathedral, CasildART Contemporary APT Gallery, Bonhams and 99 Projects Gallery, often aligned with cultural, philanthropic, or charitable causes. She is a Voice Magazine Advocate mentoring aspiring young writers, and a member of the Arms Around the Child Committee which involves curating fundraising exhibitions and auctions for the charity. Lee also writes catalogue texts and critical reviews for artists, and her essay on surrealism was published in Charlotte Colbert’s 2025
‘Chasing Rainbows’ book.
Lee also takes on public speaking engagements at exhibitions and cultural institutions. Recent panel discussions include conversations during Frieze Week 2025 with artist Maria Magdalena Campos-Pons and Musician Kamaal Malak at the National Gallery and artist-poet Arch Hades in Mayfair, and an artist mentoring session for The Art Ladder.
Lee has over two decades of experience in the art world and global creative industries.
Lee was Head of Global Creative PR at Saatchi& Saatchi Worldwide for 7 years before launching her own arts consultancy in 2016.
She has worked with a broad range of artists, galleries, cultural institutions, and brands including Venice Biennale, Istanbul Biennial, Cannes Lions, British Art Fair, London Art Fair, Yoko Ono, Institute of Contemporary Arts, Sotheby’s, Pet Shop Boys, Maxim (The Prodigy), Bowman Sculpture, Colnaghi Gallery, D’Stassi Art, Woodbury House, David Bailey, Peter Blake, Bridget Riley, Rob and Nick Carter, Gavin Turk, Alison Jackson, Yurim Gough, Arch Hades, Cramer Street Gallery, CAA Gallery, Cavliero Finn, Guerin Projects, Blond Contemporary, Varvara Roza Galleries, The Blender Gallery (Istanbul) and Miart Gallery (London and Istanbul).
With a background in History of Art from UCL, The Courtauld Institute, the University of Bologna and Norwich School of Art, and early career roles at Sotheby’s, the Institute of Contemporary Arts, and top London galleries including Timothy Taylor Gallery, Lee brings both academic rigour and industry experience to her curating and writing. Her approach is thoughtful, targeted, and always rooted in a genuine passion for contemporary art and culture.
