This exhibition marked Bianca Raffaella’s awards as Overall Winner of the 8th Women in Art Prize 2025, presented at the British Library’s Pigott Theatre in September 2025.
These awards are highlighted within a profile on the artist on the BBC World Service’s In the Studio audio documentary and podcast episode, Bianca Raffaella: A World of Blurred Vision, produced by Sahar Zand and released in January 2026.
Renowned for her evocative figurative and floral art, the exhibition focuses on Raffaella’s monoprint portraits, including award-winning pieces from her suite *Just Out of Reach* (2025) and the series *She Cannot Fade* (2025).

Utilizing acrylic monoprinting, Raffaella creates her works by painting directly onto copper plates with her fingertips, capturing fleeting impressions that reflect her lived experience with visual impairment.
The portraits in *She Cannot Fade* vary in detail and distortion, mirroring the instability of visual perception. Raffaella describes some prints as

“hardly there,” symbolising the elusive nature of her reflections on visibility and identity.
Visitors can also engage with tactile pieces designed for touch, alongside white-on-white textural floral reliefs that evoke beauty in braille, reminiscent of Raffaella’s early reading experiences.
